EALING MEDIATION SERVICE
Ealing Mediation Service (EMS) is an independent charity (reg. no.1057438) working to improve the lives of residents and communities throughout the London Borough of Ealing by offering a professional, efficient and effective local community mediation service.
Whilst we mainly focus on neighbour/community disputes, we can also assist with other types of community disputes i.e. between tenants and landlords, between the public and organisations, between groups or between family members (but not partnership breakdowns and related access to children or assets where the local family mediation service could assist).
We are also happy to take on casework in nearby west London boroughs that have no local community mediation service and we are diversifying into workplace mediation and peer mediation in schools.
The charity is run by a Management Committee of up to 12 volunteers from the community and has two part-time office based staff, access to freelance supervision and training staff and around 30 trained and experienced volunteer mediators, of which over 20 are active at any one time.
From our founding year of 1997 the Service has dealt with over 1900 enquiries and directly assists over 300 people a year.
We actively network with other London mediation services through London Community Mediation Service (LCMS) which is made up of the majority of London based not for profit community mediation services.
We support the work of the Safer Ealing Partnership and are actively involved in its anti-social behaviour strategy considerations.
Our patron is Miranda Hart, actor, writer and comedian, star of the BBC series 'Miranda'.
